(Worthy News) – After securing GOP support, the House passed a budget resolution on Thursday with a narrow 216-214 vote, enabling Congress to advance President Donald Trump’s extensive legislative agenda.
The lower chamber narrowly approved the Senate’s budget blueprint with a 216–214 vote, despite concerns from some Republicans about its financial implications. Republican Representatives Thomas Massie (KY) and Victoria Spartz (IN) voted against the resolution.
The passage of the budget resolution by the lower chamber is crucial for advancing President Trump’s legislative priorities on southern border security, tax cuts, and energy policy, as it enables Republicans to bypass a Senate filibuster by Democrats.
With both the House and Senate now working on the resolution, they will draft the language that includes policies, appropriations, and spending cuts for the final package.
On TRUTH Social, President Donald Trump praised the House’s approval of the bill.
“Congratulations to the House on the passage of a Bill that sets the stage for one of the Greatest and Most Important Signings in the History of our Country,” he stated. “Among many other things, it will be the Largest Tax and Regulation Cuts ever even contemplated. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
