Netanyahu Declares: ‘Gaza Will Not Become Hamastan or Fatahstan’

by Emmitt Barry, Worthy News Correspondent

(Worthy News) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed opposition to the United States’ proposals to install a reformed Palestinian Authority in Gaza following the completion of Israel’s military operation to remove Hamas from the Strip.

“I greatly appreciate American support for the destruction of Hamas and the return of our hostages. After intensive discussion with President Biden and his team, we received full support for ground intervention and to counter international pressure to end the war,” Netanyahu said in Hebrew in a video posted on X.

He added, “I want to clarify my position: I will not let Israel repeat the mistake of Oslo. After the enormous sacrifice of our citizens and soldiers, I will not introduce into Gaza those who educate about terrorism, support, or finance it. Gaza will be neither a ‘Hamastan’ nor a ‘Fatahstan.'”

Netanyahu expressed gratitude towards the Biden administration for their support in the Hamas conflict. He particularly acknowledged the U.S.’s backing for the ground incursion and its role in mitigating international pressure to cease the conflict. “I greatly appreciate the American support for our efforts to dismantle Hamas and recover our hostages,” Netanyahu remarked.

He also mentioned his productive discussions with President Biden and his team, which led to solid support for Israel’s actions. However, Netanyahu acknowledged some differences of opinion regarding the post-conflict scenario, commonly referred to as ‘the day after Hamas.’ He expressed hope for reaching a mutual understanding on this matter, indicating ongoing dialogue and negotiation efforts.

Netanyahu is scheduled to meet with U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan on Thursday. During this meeting, they are anticipated to discuss “the timeline of the Gaza conflict” and the role of the Israeli military in Gaza post-conflict.
