(Worthy News) – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recently disclosed that their fleet of missile boats carried out “extensive” training exercises over the past week. This move is part of the IDF’s preparations for an expansion of war with Hezbollah in Lebanon.
On Friday, tensions between Israel and Hezbollah continued as the Iran-backed terrorist organization claimed responsibility for targeting a building in northern Israel. At the same time, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported intercepting a “suspicious” drone that had entered its airspace. This incident further intensifies the ongoing conflict between the two sides.
The IDF reported that the Navy’s exercises were designed to simulate combat scenarios in the northern maritime theater. These drills were conducted in collaboration with the Israeli Air Force, notably including the participation of the 193rd Squadron, which operates AS565 Panther helicopters, a model primarily utilized for sea missions.
The IDF indicated that the exercises covered various scenarios, including thwarting drone attacks, conducting aerial rescues from ships, and refueling missile boats while at sea.
Following the atrocities on October 7, Israel has issued warnings about its diminishing tolerance for Hezbollah’s proximity along its border. It has cautioned that, in the absence of a diplomatic resolution, it will resort to military measures to force Hezbollah to retreat northward to create a buffer zone for its citizens.
On Friday, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz expressed that Israel’s patience for a diplomatic resolution in the north is wearing thin.
Katz posted on X in Hebrew, “If the dramatic intelligence information we revealed before the Security Council doesn’t lead to a change, we will not hesitate to act.”
Katz highlighted this by sharing a clip from a Channel 12 report, which revealed that Israel has formally alerted the UN Security Council about Iran’s ongoing arms shipments to Hezbollah, violating UN Resolution 1701 that concluded the 2006 Israel-Lebanon war which details specific arms being supplied, including the methods of delivery and specific timelines.
Since the beginning of the Simchat Torah War that broke out on October 8, Hezbollah has launched almost daily attacks on Israeli communities and military positions along the border, claiming these actions are in solidarity with Gaza during the conflict. These border skirmishes have led to the deaths of six Israeli civilians, 10 IDF soldiers, and reservists and have also included several attacks from Syria, which, fortunately, resulted in no injuries.
