Iran Plots Response to Terrorist Leaders Assassinations As Khemeni Orders Direct Strike on Israel

(Worthy News) – In retaliation for the assassinations of two high-profile terrorists in the Middle East, attributed to Israel by Iranian officials, Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has ordered a direct strike on Israel and convened a meeting with its proxy groups to coordinate a response.

“We see avenging his blood our duty,” Khamenei stated, warning of a “severe punishment” for Israel.

“The criminal, terrorist Zionist regime martyred our dear guest in our territory and has caused our grief, but it has also prepared the ground for a severe punishment,” stated Khamenei’s English-language X account on Wednesday, following the assassination of Hamas leader Ishmail Haniyeh in Tehran.

Speaking at a funeral for Hezbollah’s second-in-command, Fuad Shukr, earlier today, Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah echoed Khamenei’s sentiments. He stated that although “Israelis are happy now,” they have “crossed a red line.” Nasrallah warned that Israel should expect “rage and revenge on all fronts supporting Gaza,” as reported by The Times of Israel.

Nasrallah asserted that Shukr’s death was an “act of war,” not a retaliation for the weekend’s rocket attack in the Golan Heights that killed a dozen children—a claim that Hezbollah denies involvement in, despite the U.S. and Israel attributing the attack to the terrorist organization.

Top Iranian officials and representatives from Iranian-backed terror proxy groups gathered in Iran on Thursday to discuss retaliation against Israel.

The meeting, involved representatives from Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, Iraqi terror groups, and the Houthi movement, according to five sources cited by Reuters.

“Iran and the resistance members will conduct a thorough assessment after the meeting in Tehran to find the best and most effective way to retaliate against the Zionist regime (Israel),” a senior Iranian official told Reuters.

Israel Faces Challenges

Speaking after a three-hour long security cabinet meeting, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu assured Israelis on Wednesday night that the nation was prepared for any attack.

“There are challenging days ahead of us,” Netanyahu declared. “Since the (Sunday) attack in Beirut (targeting a top Hezbollah official), threats have been heard from all sides. We are prepared for any scenario and will stand united and determined against any threat. Israel will exact a heavy price from any aggression against us on any front.”

US Flights Suspended

United Airlines and Delta are suspending flights to Israel due to escalating tensions in the Middle East following Israel’s assassination of two top terrorist leaders this week.

“Starting with tonight’s flight from Newark Liberty to Tel Aviv, we are suspending our daily service to Tel Aviv for security reasons as we evaluate our next steps,” a United spokesperson stated on Wednesday. “We continue to closely monitor the situation and will decide on resuming service based on the safety of our customers and crews.”
