IDF Chief Confirms Military Readiness on Northern Border Amid Hezbollah Threats

(Worthy News) – During his visit to the Israel-Lebanon border on Wednesday for a situational evaluation, Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, the IDF Chief of General Staff, briefed security officials, confirming that the Israeli military is in a “very strong state of readiness in the north” as Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah warned of a “very costly” war “without limits” if the situation erupted into a full-scale conflict.

Halevi’s visit to the Israel-Lebanon border occurred shortly after Israel was implicated in the killing of Saleh Al-Arouri, a senior Hamas military commander. He emphasized the Israeli military’s ongoing efforts against Hamas while also highlighting the need for readiness to launch attacks if necessary.

“We are in a very strong state of readiness in the north, under my impression. I visit here a lot, I think readiness is at its peak,” Halevi said.  “We approved today a variety of plans for continuation, and we need to be ready to attack if required,” the Halevi continued.

Meanwhile, Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, recognized as a terrorist organization by the West, delivered a speech following the assassination of Saleh Al-Arouri, the deputy leader of Hamas, in Beirut.

“Until now, we are fighting on the [Israel-Lebanon] front with set calculations, but if the enemy [Israel] wages war on Lebanon, our fight will be without limits, rules, and regulations, and it [Israel] knows what I mean,” Nasrallah stated.

“Who thinks about engaging in a war with us will regret it, God willing! The war with us will be very, very, very costly. If we have so been so far taking into consideration the Lebanese situation and national interests, if war is waged in Lebanon, the Lebanese national interests require that we engage in the war until the end without regulation,” the terrorist leader continued.

Approximately 200,000 residents were evacuated from areas near Israel’s southern and northern borders following a brutal attack by Hamas on October 7, which resulted in the tragic loss of 1,200 civilians, including women, children, and elderly, in communities close to the Gaza Strip. Since October 8, Hezbollah has launched daily attacks in the northern region and has pledged to retaliate for the death of Arouri.
