Trump Says Iran’s Supreme Leader Should Surrender

By Stefan J. Bos, Chief International Correspondent Worthy News

WASHINGTON (Worthy News) – U.S. President Donald J. Trump urged Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to surrender, saying the United States knows where he is hiding and suggested he may be killed one day.

“We know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there – We are not going to take him out (kill!),” Trump wrote on the Truth Social media platform, adding: “at least not for now.”

But, “we don’t want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” Trump added in his message that was likely closely watched by Tehran.

He also urged in a social media posting, Iran’s “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER” as the five-day conflict continues to escalate with dozens of Israelis killed and hundreds wounded after barrages of Iranian rockets.

Iran said at least 224 civilians have been killed in Israeli attacks. Israel said its death toll from Iranian strikes had risen to at least 24 or 25 since the beginning of the confrontation, with hundreds injured.

Trump’s increasingly muscular comments towards Tehran come after he urged Tehran’s 9.5 million residents to flee for their lives.

He shortened his visit to the Group of Seven summit in Canada to return to Washington for urgent talks with his national security team.

COMPLETE CONTROL

His comments about Khamenei and calls for surrender came shortly after Trump, in a separate social media post, claimed complete control of the skies over Tehran.

Yet there were no indications that Trump’s rhetoric halted Iranian attacks on Israel, with Iran’s Defence Ministry saying it used a new, “undetectable missile” in striking an Israeli intelligence facility.

Tehran said the attack penetrated multiple layers of air defences. “In today’s attack, we deployed missiles that could not be tracked or intercepted,” added Brigadier General Reza Talaei-Nik, the ministry’s spokesperson.

He called the operation “a surprise” for Israelis, warning that they will witness more. Earlier Tuesday, Iran said its missile attacks hit a military intelligence centre and “a Mossad operations planning center,” referring to Israel’s renowned secret service.

Talaei-Nik added that Israel is not prepared for prolonged conflict. “The Zionist regime cannot withstand a long war,” he said, adding that Iran’s military has been equipped with advanced systems – some of which “have not yet even been deployed”.

He spoke after earlier Tuesday, Israel said it had assassinated Iran’s most senior military commander, in a sign that even the country’s supreme leader might be next.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Tuesday that they killed Major General Ali Shadmani, identified as Iran’s “wartime chief of staff.” He became commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, the unified combatant command of the Iranian Armed Forces, after Israel assassinated his predecessor, Gholam Ali Rashid, last Friday.
