Russia Claims It Hit Military Target In Sumy

By Stefan J. Bos, Chief International Correspondent Worthy News

SUMY/MOSCOW (Worthy News) – Russia claimed Monday that its missile strike that killed 35 and injured more than 100 people in Ukraine’s northeastern city of Sumy had a military purpose.

Two of its missiles “had struck a meeting of “Ukrainian military officers” on Palm Sunday in Sumy, said Russia’s Defence Ministry.

Ukraine called the strike “a deliberate attack” on civilians, many of whom were on their way to church.

Ukraine’s Air Force also announced that a new Russian missile and guided bombs struck Sumy again late Monday.

Officials confirmed the latest Russian missile strike shook the outskirts of the city, but they reported no casualties.

Checks were being conducted to determine the extent of any damage, according to sources familiar with the situation.

Kyiv called the strike “a deliberate attack” on civilians.
