Israeli Airstrikes Hit Two Hezbollah Targets Near Damascus, Says SOHR

by Emmitt Barry, Worthy News Correspondent

(Worthy News) – On Wednesday, fighter jets from the Israeli Air Force reportedly targeted two sites in the Damascus area, which reportedly targeted Lebanon’s Hezbollah Terrorist Organization, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).

“New Israeli airstrikes targeting Hezbollah” killed two Syrian nationals who “work with Hezbollah” according to SOHR.

Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), citing a statement from a military source, “the Zionist enemy carried out an air attack with two missiles from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting some points in the vicinity of the city of Damascus.”

Syria’s foreign ministry cautioned that “such criminal acts… jeopardize the security and stability of the region,” as reported by SANA.

AIRPORTS REMAIN CLOSED

Meanwhile, flights to and from Damascus and Aleppo airports have been halted since the runways were damaged in alleged Israeli strikes on October 22. This has resulted in the longest closure of Syria’s two main airports, as reported by SOHR.

Israel rarely provides comments on specific strikes in Syria; however, it consistently asserts its commitment to preventing Iran, from expanding its influence in the region and supporting President Bashar al-Assad’s Syrian government.
