Israel Says Over 250 Hezbollah Operatives Eliminated in ‘Operation Eternal Darkness’

(Worthy News) – Israel announced that more than 250 Hezbollah terrorists and commanders were killed during its large-scale military campaign known as “Operation Eternal Darkness,” marking one of the most significant blows to the Iran-backed terrorist group in recent years.

The Israel Defense Forces released updated findings following continued intelligence assessments after the April 8 strikes, detailing the scope of the operation across Beirut, the Beqaa Valley, and southern Lebanon.

Among those eliminated were several senior Hezbollah figures, including Hassan Mustafa Nasser, who headed Hezbollah’s logistics support headquarters and played a central role in weapons smuggling and military buildup in southern Lebanon. Israeli officials also confirmed the deaths of senior intelligence operatives Ali Qassem, Abu Ali Abbas, and Ali Hijazi, all involved in gathering intelligence on Israel and developing targeting systems.

In addition, the IDF reported the killing of Abu Muhammad Habib, deputy head of Hezbollah’s missile unit, who was responsible for directing rocket attacks and advancing the group’s missile capabilities.

Military officials described the operation as a “severe blow” to Hezbollah’s command-and-control infrastructure, noting that the casualties include both high-ranking commanders and field operatives. The IDF added that assessments are ongoing and additional identifications are expected.

Israel Katz said the operation represents the most significant strike against Hezbollah since the 2024 “Beepers Operation,” emphasizing that hundreds of террорист operatives were targeted in coordinated strikes on command centers throughout Lebanon.

The details of the operation underscores Israel’s continued effort to dismantle Hezbollah’s military capabilities amid ongoing regional tensions.
