Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei Injured but Still Governing

(Worthy News) – Iran’s newly installed supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, was reportedly wounded during the recent war but remains capable of carrying out his duties, according to a source familiar with the matter cited by The Jerusalem Post.

Iranian state television confirmed Monday that Mojtaba Khamenei had been injured, though officials provided no details about how or when the injury occurred, nor the severity of the wounds. The report also did not indicate whether the injury has affected his ability to manage day-to-day affairs of state.

Despite official assurances that he continues to lead the government, Mojtaba has not appeared publicly since his appointment, and no photographs or video of the new supreme leader have been released. The absence has fueled speculation among analysts and Iranian opposition figures about the true state of leadership within the Islamic Republic.

Critics of the regime argue the lack of public appearances raises questions about who is actually directing Iran’s government. Some opposition figures claim another senior regime official may be exercising real authority behind the scenes, while Mojtaba serves primarily as a symbolic leader.

Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of longtime Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei, has long been viewed as a powerful figure within Iran’s political and security establishment. Although he held no formal government position for many years, analysts widely believe he wielded significant influence behind the scenes prior to assuming the country’s highest leadership role.
